a royal wedding and a royal hat

All this talk about the Royal Wedding has made me so nostalgic the past couple of days. Needless to say, I loved every bit of it and ate it all up just like I did all of the fairy tales and princess stories I read when I was a little girl. Every bit of their story, their romance and the traditions had me glued to the TV and sent me to a world that every little princess wishes for... one where fairy tales become reality.  Kate to me was a present day Cinderella.  A commoner, who stole the heart of the handsome and humble prince, fell in-love and rose to become the Duchess of  Cambridge.  What a story!

The Royal Wedding, has also brought upon the sudden urge to adorn my head with a frilly hat! but not just any hat, one that is fitting for a Royal tea party. (I think I might have to have one of those soon)

Here's one I found from BHLDN that might be a winner.  A white Maidland Sunner... What do you think?
To tea or not to tea???

an amazing restaurant you've probably driven past...

Yesterday we celebrated two of our co-worker's 10 year anniversary with our firm and visited Cafe Sharaku in Fort Lauderdale.  I could have never guessed that in the middle of the busy and congested US-1 there would be such an intimate and delicate Asian Fusion restaurant with some of the most unique foods I've ever tasted.  I must have driven past this place dozens of times without paying it any attention. Now, even if I don't stop it will no longer be "just a little restaurant on the side of the road."  We made reservations and of course, like any good blogger, I had my camera handy and snapped a few shots for those who would like to embark in a visual adventure. This is a definite must go again kind of place! Enjoy!
1.Seafood ceviche- Shrimp, bay scallop, white fish, mini tomatoes with cilantro and shaved shallots
2. Smoked scallop sashimi- Chopped tomatoes and shallots in sherry vinegar sauce
3.Sautéed Maine lobster- Asparagus, spinach, shiitake mushrooms with shiso garlic butter
4. Peppered fresh tuna sashimi- Red, green and clear seaweed with onion ponzu
5.Eel pizza -Layered seaweed, rice, eel, and mozzarella cheese with eel sauce
6. Green Tea
7. Pineapple Coconut Mousse Cake.... amazing!!!

a pear by any other name...

...would still taste as sweet!  Alex came home yesterday with what he called a gift from the "other side of the world."  A Korean Pear. It was sweeter and juicier than any pear I've ever tasted perfect for a light and healthy snack. Yumm!    -Reese

A little easter weekend perspective...

A little perspective...
Sometimes we take for granted those we have closest to us. We spend so much time seeing their faults that we forget all the good that's in them.

This past weekend was about seeing the good in-spite of the not so good around us.  I saw the love and generosity in my husband, the selflessness of my parents, the bigheartedness of Sammy and the grace that my brothers share with each other and those around them. I am overwhelmed and blessed beyond belief.

Here are a few pics of our Easter dinner. Enjoy!

Happy Easter!

What a crazy long weekend.  So much to blog about and great memories to hold in my heart and mind for a long time...

My favorite has to be spending some time with my niece.  Here's a pic of us bonding talking about our cute spring polish :0)
